Bully is an action adventure with a third-person view. The updated version with the subtitle Scholarship Edition appeared in October 2008. The action takes place in the fictional town of Bulworth in New England. The main character is the "difficult" teenager Jimmy Hopkins, who grew up without a father. His mother once again married and left with her stepfather for a year-long honeymoon, leaving her son at the Bulworth Academy, a private boarding school. Jimmy will find his place among school groups, local hooligans and bully.

Bully - a game with the open world, where advancement on the story line is associated with the movement of the hero through the territory of the academy and the city. In the city and in the academy, Jimmy can perform side tasks in order to earn money or improve his abilities, or plot to move forward. Jimmy is available different types of weapons, typical for his age - a slingshot, firecrackers, a potato-moth and the like. In addition to assignments, players can also participate in school life - for example, successful attendance of lessons and classes on them give Jimmy certain bonuses. In the original game there are six training subjects (English, drawing, work, physical education, photography, chemistry), in the Scholarship Edition, four more have been added (biology, geography, mathematics, music).
